Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development.

You will assist with day-to-day store activities, help organize merchandise from delivery to floor, and supervise store associates under the Store Manager. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks repeatedly.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays and ensure store areas meet company standards.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety and company policies; supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and presentable store environment.
