Job summary

Aesop is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Newport Beach to support the store manager in driving performance, leading a high-performing team, and delivering a premium customer experience on the shop floor. You will coach staff, manage training, and execute quarterly commercial plans to meet KPIs, while upholding Aesop’s standards.

Ideal candidates bring at least 2+ years of supervisory retail or hospitality experience, strong commercial acumen, and a passion for selling through storytelling

Qualifications

• Proven 2+ years of experience supervising and motivating a team in a customer- and sales-focused retail or hospitality environment.
• Excellent commercial acumen with ability to define, role model, and monitor behaviours that achieve sales targets and KPIs.
• Natural ability to lead the art of selling through exceptional conversations and cross-category sales.
• Skilled at coaching, providing feedback, and building teams that drive retention.
• Flexible scheduling availability, including 5 full days per week with weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Drive Performance & Growth: define and communicate quarterly performance goals; develop monthly commercial plans; run daily briefings; activate campaigns and drive KPI performance.
• Lead Customer Experience: train and coach team to deliver Aesop’s customer experience; act on Voice of the Customer data to enhance in-store experience; collaborate on visual merchandising and marketing initiatives.
• Select, Onboard & Develop Talent: sign off RC induction; manage performance and development planning; spend 80% on shop floor observing and coaching; conduct performance reviews.
• Supervise Operations: ensure efficient store operations; uphold retail standards and the five senses experience.
