Job summary

SOLV Energy seeks an Assistant Commissioning Manager to oversee testing and commissioning across HV, BESS, and PV projects. You will lead commissioning teams, coordinate with engineering and QA, and ensure on-site execution meets safety and performance standards.

The role requires hybrid work with on-site presence at job sites and some remote coordination, supporting the transition from commissioning through project closeout and successful asset handover.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of utility-scale solar, storage, and HV substations.
• Experience with HV/MV switching operations and equipment grounding.
• Familiarity with LOTO safety program procedures.
• Substation protection and control (P&C) systems knowledge.
• Fiber installation and test requirements know‑how.
• SCADA system understanding and testing/commissioning.
• DC systems architecture and testing basics.
• Experience with NFPA/NEC, IEEE/IES/API standards.
• Experience with NETA/IEEE standards for solar generation.

Responsibilities

• Lead project commissioning teams and provide guidance and training.
• Report status to the Commissioning Manager daily.
• Develop project milestone lists and commissioning plans.
• Coordinate with OEMs for equipment testing and commissioning.
• Ensure alignment with engineering, construction and QA teams.
• Develop integrated testing/commissioning schedules and maintain them weekly.
• Create commissioning resource plans for the project.
• Oversee pre-commissioning and all commissioning tests (cold/warm/hot).
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Prepare detailed daily commissioning reports and track issues.
