Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Commissioning Manager to lead planning, execution, and oversight of testing and commissioning for HV, BESS, and PV projects. You will work with the Commissioning Manager and SMEs to ensure systems are installed, tested and commissioned per project requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices.

Hybrid role with onsite presence at job sites and partial remote work; travel to projects nationwide is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of testing and commissioning on utility-scale electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing project teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project commissioning team, providing guidance, training, and support for tasks.
• Report daily to the Commissioning Manager on status of each project.
• Review requirements to develop project milestone list, commissioning plan, and procedures.
• Communicate with OEM suppliers regarding equipment testing and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA to align commissioning activities.
• Develop integrated P6 schedules and keep them updated weekly.
• Develop commissioning resource plan for the project.
• Review energization procedures and assist with switching activities as requested.
• Identify and resolve technical issues encountered during commissioning or operation.
• Support development of standards and processes to improve business.
• Manage all pre-commissioning and commissioning tests for BESS, HV, PV systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare daily commissioning reports and document results and actions.
• Monitor timelines and resources to ensure delivery and quality.
• Capture lessons learned and maintain warranty tracking logs.
