Job summary

The YMCA in New Hope, PA is seeking an Assistant Preschool Teacher to support early learning and daily care for children in our program. This full-time, hourly role runs Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 5:30pm, offering a pathway to growth within a community-focused nonprofit.

You will find engaging activities, a welcoming environment, and teamwork with a supportive staff as you help children learn and grow while upholding safety and inclusivity.

Qualifications

• Are 21+ and have 2+ years of experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or familial capacity
• High school diploma
• Associate/Bachelor degree or college credits from an accredited college or university in childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field preferred
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
• Child care experience preferred
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances

• Finding new and engaging ways to help kids learn
• Being patient and kind with our parents and children
• Cultivating and fostering a safe and nurturing environment that will encourage physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of children in the program
• Adjusting curriculum to ensure that all children meet the learning objectives
• Utilizing state and YMCA guidelines to ensure the safety and well being of the children
