Job summary

YMCA in New Hope, PA is seeking an Assistant Teacher for a part-time evening schedule, with hours 3:00pm-6:00pm, Monday-Friday. This full-time hourly role offers a structured environment to support children’s learning and growth.

Ideal candidates are 21+, with 2+ years of child-related experience, and hold a high school diploma. Relevant degrees are preferred. Clearances must be passed. Enjoy benefits and a community-focused, non-profit setting.

Qualifications

• 21+ and 2+ years of experience with children in professional, volunteer, or family setting.
• High school diploma completed.
• Associate/Bachelor degree or college credits in childhood education or related field preferred.
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment.
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances.

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help kids learn.
• Be patient and kind with our parents.
• Cultivate a safe and nurturing environment that supports physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.
• Adjust curriculum to ensure all children meet learning objectives.
• Follow state and YMCA guidelines to ensure safety and well-being of children.

What is needed for this job

• Are 21+ and have 2+ years of experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or familial capacity
• High school diploma
• Associate/Bachelor degree or college credits from an accredited college or university in childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field preferred
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances
