Job summary

The YMCA Bethlehem is seeking an Assistant Teacher in Bethlehem, PA. This part-time, hourly role offers shift opportunities Monday through Friday from 6am to 6pm. The position pays $14.00–$17.00 per hour and focuses on fostering a positive learning environment for young children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Associate/Bachelor degree or college credits in childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or related human services field preferred.
• 21+ years old with 2+ years of experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or family setting.
• Desire to work with Infants to Toddlers (0-2 years).
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment.
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances.

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help kids learn.
• Be patient and kind with our parents.
• Cultivate a safe and nurturing environment that supports physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of children in the program.
• Adjust curriculum to ensure all children meet learning objectives.
• Follow state and YMCA guidelines to ensure safety and wellbeing.

What is needed for this job
