Job summary

YMCA Bethlehem is hiring an Assistant Toddler Teacher for the Bethlehem, PA location for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, hourly role runs Monday through Friday, 8-hour days between 6:30am and 6:00pm, at $15.50-$17.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or familial capacity.
• High school diploma required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree or credits in childhood education or related field preferred.
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment.
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances.

Responsibilities

• Find new and engaging ways to help kids learn.
• Be patient and kind with parents.
• Foster a safe, nurturing environment promoting growth.
• Adjust curriculum to meet learning objectives.
• Follow state and YMCA safety guidelines.

What is needed for this job

• Are 21+ and have 2+ years of experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or familial capacity
• High school diploma
• Associate/Bachelor degree or college credits from an accredited college or university in childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field preferred
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances
