Job summary

Camden Property Trust in Apex, NC is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Supervisor to support the Maintenance Supervisor in overseeing the community’s upkeep, make-readies, and preventive maintenance while ensuring resident satisfaction.

The role requires hands-on skills in appliance and system repairs, tile work, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical tasks, plus accurate OneSite record-keeping and inventory management. Training and leadership of the maintenance staff are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and some college or trade school preferred.
• 1 year of general maintenance experience, at least 6 months apartment maintenance experience required.
• EPA certification Type I, Type II, or Universal required; CPO certification preferred.
• Must be able to perform tile work, carpentry repairs, and all facets of the apartment make-readie process.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, electronic systems, all major appliances, pool and spa equipment and other systems on community.
• CAMT certification preferred.
• Must have certifications/permits required by city or state to perform job responsibilities.
• Must have dependable transportation and be able to accommodate rotating on-call schedule; valid driver's license required for Low Speed Vehicle communities.
• Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in supervising and scheduling maintenance activities such as make readies and service requests.
• Monitor and prioritize service requests and tasks; identify emergencies and prioritize accordingly.
• Perform preventative maintenance on community and apartment appliances and equipment.
• Prepare vacant apartments for move-in and complete required repairs or replacements.
• Assist with make ready process by inspecting vacancies, communicating with vendors, and tracking progress.
• Monitor recurring repairs to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Respond to service requests and repair appliances, plumbing, and HVAC/electrical systems.
• Maintain community appearance by updating lighting, trash removal, and general repairs.
• Accurately document service requests, preventive maintenance, and make-readies in OneSite.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents, guests, and vendors.
• Identify safety hazards and report or correct them with the supervisor.
