Job summary

Camden Property Trust is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Supervisor for our multifamily communities in Charlotte, NC. You will assist the Maintenance Supervisor with daily maintenance, make-readies, and preventative tasks while focusing on resident satisfaction and safety.

Ideal candidates have general maintenance experience, HVAC/plumbing/electrical repair skills, and the ability to manage make-readies and coordinate with vendors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and some college or trade school preferred.
• 1 year of general maintenance experience, at least 6 months of apartment maintenance experience.
• EPA Type I, Type II, or Universal certification required; CAMT certification preferred.
• Must be able to perform tile work, carpentry repairs, and all facets of the apartment make-readya.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, electronic systems, all major appliances, pool and spa equipment and other systems on community.
• Certified Apartment Service Technician (CAMT) preferred.
• Must have certifications/permits required by city or state to perform job responsibilities.
• Must have dependable transportation to/from work and be able to accommodate a rotating on-call schedule.
• Ability to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in supervising and scheduling maintenance activities, such as make readies and service requests.
• Monitor and prioritize service requests and tasks, identify emergencies, and manage workload to ensure timely completion.
• Perform preventative maintenance on community appliances and equipment.
• Prepare vacant apartments for move-in, including repairs or replacements.
• Manage make-readies by inspecting vacants and coordinating with vendors until completion.
• Monitor repairs to identify recurring issues and determine root causes.
• Respond to service requests and repair or replace appliances, plumbing, and HVAC/electrical systems.
• Maintain community appearance by replacing bulbs, cleaning, painting, and general repairs.
• Complete OneSite records for service requests, preventive maintenance, and vacants.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents, guests, and vendors.
• Identify safety hazards and report or fix them as needed.
• Assist in training maintenance staff and maintaining inventory.
