Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in Los Angeles is seeking an Assistant Grocery Manager to support the Grocery Manager in leading one of our busiest teams. You will oversee merchandising, inventory, and staff coaching to deliver great value and service while meeting sales and margin goals.

You’ll hire, train, and develop the Grocery Team, coordinate daily operations, and ensure health and safety guidelines are followed in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with 1–3 years retail management experience; familiarity with natural foods preferred.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays; ability to walk up to 3 miles per 8 hours.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to take and give direction in a team.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with positive attitude and customer interaction skills.
• Proven leadership to build and motivate staff; understand margin, sales, and financial goals.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and organized with planning skills.
• Ability to lift and transfer milk trays up to 60 lbs and boxes up to 50 lbs; up to 25 hours.
• Repetitive squatting/kneeling/bending to floor up to 30 hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist Grocery Manager in department management, merchandising, and profitability.
• Oversee ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and team supervision.
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through planning, direction, and communication.
• Lead brainstorming to deliver high-quality products and customer service.
• Assist in hiring, training, and developing the Grocery Team.
• Unloading and sorting store deliveries.
• Ensure health, safety, and sanitation guidelines are followed.
