Sweetgreen in Troy, MI seeks an Assistant Coach (Assistant General Manager) to lead and mentor a team, drive operational excellence, and deliver exceptional guest experiences using data-driven insights to build healthier communities through real food. You will partner with the Head Coach on hiring, training, and performance, while managing daily operations, scheduling, and costs to achieve strong results.

This hands-on role requires strong leadership and a focus on food safety and guest

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a restaurant management/supervisory role.
• Experience managing and developing 6+ team members per shift.
• Food Handler or ServSafe certification.
• Must be available to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team and assist with hiring, onboarding, and training.
• Uphold food safety, cleanliness, and equipment standards; resolve issues with quality and audits.
• Drive guest experience through brand-aligned service and timely decisions.
• Support controllable costs, scheduling, and data-driven strategies with the Head Coach.
• Ensure effective deployment and use of systems to enable smooth operations.
• Perform all essential duties from the Shift Leader career path when needed.
