Job summary

Sweetgreen is seeking an Assistant Coach (Assistant General Manager) to lead and mentor the team, optimize operations, and deliver outstanding guest experiences. You will partner with the Head Coach to set goals, review performance, and leverage data-driven insights to support healthier communities with real food.

Responsibilities include hiring and training, upholding food safety standards, managing guest journeys, and driving sales through strategic scheduling and cost control.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a restaurant management/supervisory role.
• Experience managing and developing 6+ team members per shift.
• Food Handler or ServSafe certification.
• Must be available to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team and partner with Head Coach on hiring, onboarding, and training.
• Uphold high standards for food safety, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences by ensuring smooth in-store and digital journeys.
• Manage controllable costs, schedule adherence, and strategic initiatives using Ops Dashboard insights.
• Support daily operations, troubleshoot issues, and prioritize tasks for smooth execution.
• Assume Shift Leader career path duties and related responsibilities.
