Job summary

Le Pain Quotidien in New York, NY is seeking an Assistant General Manager to partner with the General Manager to lead the guest experience, develop the team, and drive restaurant performance.

You will hire and develop a high-performing team, maintain service standards, manage food quality and safety, and contribute to profitability through forecasting and smart labor deployment. This role is ideal for hospitality leaders aiming for future General Manager opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of restaurant leadership experience.
• Ability to lead a high-performing team with energy, empathy, and vision.
• Experience with P&L, forecasting, inventory, and COGs.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the floor, coaching team members and connecting with guests.
• Resolve guest concerns with empathy and urgency.
• Partner with the GM to recruit, interview, hire, and retain a high-performing team.
• Support in optimizing labor deployment to balance service with budget goals.
• Oversee opening, mid-shift, and closing execution with strong food safety.
• Share P&L accountability and drive profitability through forecasting and proactive labor deployment.
