Le Pain Quotidien in Greenwich, CT is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead on the floor, partner with the GM, and balance guest needs with financial results.

This hands-on leadership role emphasizes hospitality, coaching, and building a resilient team, with a focus on consistent service and culture across shifts. The position offers daytime hours and opportunities for growth toward General Manager roles.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of restaurant leadership experience in a full-service restaurant, hospitality group, or comparable environment.
• Passion for hospitality with ability to lead from the floor during service.
• Track record of building strong restaurant cultures with valued, supported teams.
• Strong instincts for guest experience and service excellence, coaching teams toward high standards.
• Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, coach, and retain talent at multiple levels.
• Experience managing labor, sales, COGS, inventory, forecasting, and P&L performance.
• Growth mindset toward General Manager-level leadership.
• Stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• NYC Food Handlers License is required.
• Proficiency in Spanish, French, and/or Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the floor during service, staying engaged and coaching in the moment.
• Own the guest experience, resolve concerns with empathy and urgency.
• Develop people and culture; create an environment where team members feel valued and motivated.
• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, develop, and retain a high-performing restaurant team.
• Open, service, and close with strong shift-to-shift communication.
• Own labor deployment during service, balancing guest experience and productivity.
• Maintain standards for food quality, hospitality, cleanliness, and food safety.
• Manage inventory, food cost, waste, ordering, and COGS; identify improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to P&L performance with focus on profitability.
• Step into General Manager responsibilities when needed.
