D.R. Horton is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for the North region in Schaumburg, IL. You will assist the site Superintendent, supervise subcontractors, ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery of homes, and maintain strong homeowner relationships.

The role emphasizes inspecting homes, coordinating inspections, and guiding teams to meet plans and budget while delivering excellent customer service. A valid driver's license and plan literacy are essential.

Qualifications

• HSD or GED required with construction awareness.
• 6 months to 2 years of related experience.
• Valid driver's license; able to drive between sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Ability to read plans and other construction documents.
• Self‑sufficient with minimal supervision; systematic approach.
• Ability to converse with customers and all management levels.
• Proficient with DRH Construction apps on devices; MS Office & email.
• Lift/move up to 50 pounds; able to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect each home daily for workmanship quality and plans conformance.
• Schedule and walk inspections with inspectors.
• Conduct homeowner walks and ensure satisfaction before closing.
• Assist Superintendent in managing subcontractors and safety.
• Enforce site safety program and company safety codes.
• Maintain cleanliness standards on communities and sites.
• Manage construction materials to minimize waste and loss.
• Support schedule delivery; ensure on‑time, on‑budget product.
• Provide superior customer service throughout construction phases.
• Build positive relations with subs and homeowners.
• Grow knowledge of building codes, materials, and scheduling.
• In Superintendent's absence, maintain schedules and policies.
• Act professionally to enhance goodwill and company profit.
• Work overtime and extra hours as necessary.
