Job summary

D.R. Horton, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for Central to support on-site construction management of home communities. You will assist the Superintendent with scheduling subcontractors, quality control, safety compliance, and customer walks.

Responsibilities include inspections, coordinating with inspectors, ensuring schedules and budgets are met, maintaining site cleanliness, and delivering a high level of customer service to homeowners throughout construction and closing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 2 years of related experience.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive among sites.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read plans and construction documents.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Inspect each home daily to ensure quality and alignment with plans.
• Schedule and walk all inspections with inspectors.
• Walk homes before homeowner sign-off to verify readiness.
• Conduct homeowner orientation and additional walkthroughs.
• Support the Superintendent in subcontractor management.
• Enforce site safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in managing materials to prevent damage or loss.
• Help maintain schedules and deliver on-time, on-budget projects.
• Provide exceptional customer service during all construction phases.
• Maintain positive relations with subcontractors and homeowners.
• Ensure knowledge of building codes and scheduling practices.
• In Superintendent’s absence, maintain schedules and policies.
• Work overtime and additional hours as needed.
