Job summary

Macy's is seeking an Asset Protection Captain to lead the store's Asset Protection efforts, train and supervise colleagues in detecting, preventing, and responding to theft and safety incidents. You will protect assets, reduce risk, and support store profitability in a dynamic retail environment.

Responsibilities include coaching teams, partnering with store leadership, and utilizing surveillance and reporting systems to support investigations and maintain high standards of security and customer

Qualifications

• Experience training, coaching, or supervising others in retail security or asset protection.
• Ability to identify, investigate, and respond to theft, fraud, safety, and policy-related incidents.
• Knowledge of policies and legal requirements related to apprehensions, searches, seizures, and evidence preservation.
• Ability to complete required security training and maintain certifications.
• Ability to apprehend shoplifters and respond appropriately in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach Asset Protection colleagues in theft prevention, investigations, and apprehensions.
• Partner with store leadership to support a safe, secure, and customer-focused environment.
• Use surveillance, alarm, reporting, and computer systems to monitor activity and document incidents.
• Create clear reports for theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, and investigations.
• Build partnerships with store leadership and local law enforcement to support investigations.
