Job summary

Macy's is seeking an Asset Protection Captain to lead store Asset Protection efforts, train teams, and respond to theft, fraud, and safety incidents. This role collaborates with store leadership to maintain a secure, customer-focused environment while protecting company assets and profitability.

The position emphasizes coaching, investigations, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements, with strong partnerships to support investigations and safe store operations.

Qualifications

• Experience training, coaching, or supervising others in retail, security, asset protection, or related environments.
• Ability to identify, investigate, and respond to theft, fraud, safety, and policy incidents.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn company policies and legal requirements related to apprehensions, searches, seizures, and evidence preservation.
• Ability to complete required security training and maintain certifications required by law.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support Asset Protection colleagues in theft prevention, investigations, and apprehensions.
• Partner with store leadership to maintain a safe, secure environment.
• Use surveillance, alarm, reporting, and computer systems to monitor activity and document incidents.
• Respond to incidents, including first aid, safety concerns, and potential liability matters.
• Create clear, timely reports for theft incidents and investigations.
• Build partnerships with store leadership and law enforcement for investigations.
