Job summary

Macy's is seeking an Asset Protection Captain to lead and develop our store's protections program in a fast-paced retail environment. You will train and coach colleagues, investigate incidents, and partner with store leadership and local law enforcement to maintain safety and protect assets.

Qualifications

• Experience leading retail asset protection teams and training colleagues.
• Ability to identify, investigate, and respond to theft, fraud, safety, and policy incidents.
• Knowledge of company policies and legal requirements around apprehensions, searches, seizures, and evidence preservation.
• Ability to complete required security training and maintain certifications.
• Ability to apprehend shoplifters and respond appropriately in a retail setting.
• Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
• For jobs in New York, a current New York State Security Guard License is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support Asset Protection colleagues in theft prevention, investigations, and apprehensions.
• Partner with store leadership to maintain a safe, secure, and customer-focused environment.
• Use surveillance, alarm, reporting, and computer systems to monitor activity and document incidents.
• Respond to customer and colleague incidents, including first aid and safety concerns.
• Support store policies related to apprehensions, searches, seizures, evidence handling, and legal compliance.
