Job summary

United Future is seeking a hands-on Tax Manager to own the ASC 740 income tax provision and to coordinate outsourced tax functions across external advisors and tax vendors.

The role centers on owning the provision, driving accuracy in current and deferred tax calculations, and leading collaboration with auditors and leadership for effective tax planning. A strong project-management mindset and experience with Avalara are essential.

Qualifications

• ASC 740 income tax provision experience.
• C-Corp federal and state tax compliance experience.
• Familiarity with outsourced tax environments (Big 4 / regional firms).
• Working knowledge of Avalara or similar sales tax systems.
• Proven ability to manage audits and work with tax authorities.
• Strong project management and coordination mindset.
• Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to tax operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual ASC 740 income tax provision with current and deferred calculations, journal entries, and schedules.
• Coordinate provision-to-return true-ups and variance analyses.
• Prepare quarterly estimated tax calculations.
• Serve as primary liaison with external tax advisors and sales tax providers.
• Review federal and state income tax returns and workpapers; manage timelines and open items.
• Oversee outsourced sales/use tax compliance processes and filings.
• Support audits and respond to tax authority inquiries.
• Identify tax savings opportunities and assist with cash flow forecasting related to tax obligations.
