Job summary

Meijer in Ohio is seeking an Area Leader to drive team engagement, coaching and performance management across the span of care. You will direct Leads and Team Leaders, oversee area operations, scheduling, safety and budget execution while upholding the Meijer culture.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 4+ years in retail or customer service, progressive leadership and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Ensures adherence to Meijer standards and opportunities for growth.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Drives safety, compliance and store condition management.
• Directs team leaders and assigns daily work and training needs.
