Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive team engagement and performance across their span of care in Michigan. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, align staffing with strategic plans, and own area operations and P&L results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members with clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Demonstrates proactive thinking to improve the business and culture.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and coaching for success.
• Identifies talent and advises on staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Holds candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and career growth.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, managing budget line items in the P&L.
• Drives safety, compliance and store condition improvements.
• Directs Lead roles in daily assignments and training needs.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
