Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader in the South Indianapolis area to lead team members, drive engagement, and coach leaders to achieve store goals. The role emphasizes talent development, performance management, and budget accountability to maximize sales and productivity.

You will partner with Leads and Team Leaders to implement corporate plans, ensure safety compliance, and maintain Meijer's high standards while fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members to provide direction.
• Ability to analyze financial information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrates commitment to safety and operating standards.
• Ability to foster an inclusive, diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training and development.
• Identifies talent and supports staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Holds candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and growth.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, including budget and P&L items.
• Drives safety, compliance and store condition management.
• Guides Team Leaders and Leads with daily tasks and training needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
