Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to drive team member engagement, coaching, and performance management across an area of store operations. You will oversee onboarding, development, scheduling, and financial performance, while maintaining a strong culture of safety and service.

You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, direct staffing strategy, and work to improve processes and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information and make informed decisions.
• Commitment to safe working practices and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to onboard, train, and coach for success.
• Identify talent and plan staffing and leadership pipelines.
• Hold candid discussions to maintain Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budgeting and staffing forecasts.
• Drive safety, compliance, and store condition management across the area.
• Guide Team Leaders and Leads in daily tasks and training needs.
