Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking an Area Leader to drive store operations and engage team members across a span of care. You will oversee onboarding, coaching, and performance management while managing budgeted objectives and customer experience.

You’ll lead Leads and Team Leaders, implement process improvements, ensure safety and compliance, and foster an inclusive culture that supports development and career growth within the Meijer family.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 4+ years in retail/grocery or customer service.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Passion to provide industry-leading service.
• Ability to communicate clearly and guide teams.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to ensure onboarding, training and coaching for success.
• Identify talent and support staffing and leadership development.
• Discuss performance and growth opportunities with team members.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budget adherence.
• Drive safety, compliance and store condition management.
• Assign daily work and training needs through Team Leaders and Leads.
