Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Area Leader to drive team engagement and development within the span of care. You will coach Leads and Team Leaders, oversee store operations and budgets, and champion safety and compliance across the department.

The role focuses on talent identification, performance management and process improvements. Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 4+ years in retail or customer service and strong financial acumen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where all team members and vendors feel valued.

Responsibilities

• Engage with team members to onboard, train and develop them, providing coaching and feedback.
• Identify talent and discuss career paths to support staffing and leadership development.
• Ensure Meijer standards and growth in an inclusive environment across the organization.
• Oversee area operations and financial results, including budgeting, forecasting and productivity.
• Lead and coach Leads and Team Leaders to assign daily work and training needs.
