Job summary

Meijer, a family-owned retailer, invites you to join as Area Leader in Ohio. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders, drive engagement, coaching, and succession planning, while owning area operations and P&L responsibilities.

You will focus on onboarding, development, staffing strategy, safety, and process improvements to strengthen customer service and store performance across your span of care in multiple stores.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Strong service orientation and customer focus.
• Clear communication with team members and direction.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decisions.
• Ability to lead a safety-conscious, productive team.
• Understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training, development, and coaching.
• Identifies talent and fosters career discussions to fill staffing and leadership roles.
• Conducts candid discussions to maintain Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Oversees area operations and financial results, including budgeting and forecasting.
• Drives safety, compliance, and maintenance of store conditions.
• Directs Team Leaders and Leads in daily assignments and training needs.
• Seeks process improvements and upholds Meijer culture.
