Job summary

Meijer in Cincinnati is seeking an Area Leader to oversee store operations, engage team members, drive performance, and manage budgets. You will lead Leads and Team Leaders and ensure safety, coaching, and development across your span of care.

The role emphasizes recognizing talent, succession planning, and improving processes while upholding Meijer values. Bachelor's degree and 4+ years retail leadership required; strong business acumen and communication needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• A passion to provide industry leading service.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrates proactive/creative thinking and applies it to the business.

Responsibilities

• Engages with team members in span of care to ensure onboarding, training and development, and coaching.
• Identifies talent and engages in career discussions to support store staffing and diverse leadership pipeline.
• Involvement in candid discussions with team members to ensure Meijer standards and growth opportunities.
• Accountability for area operations and financial results by overseeing execution of corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity.
• Drives safety and compliance throughout the store and manages overall condition and compliance procedures.
• Ensures Leads and Team Leaders provide guidance and assign daily work and training needs.
