Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Louisville, KY is seeking an Estimator in Training. You will work alongside an experienced estimator to diagnose vehicle damage and prepare accurate, profitable estimates in line with insurance partner and company guidelines.

You’ll communicate value to customers, aiming for a high closed sales ratio while coordinating with production, insurance adjusters, and the repair team. This role emphasizes teamwork and ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must currently possess or complete 16 I-CAR units within 12 months.
• Preferred: 4–6 years related work experience; photo-imaging software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW plan.
• Greet customer at repair drop off and build rapport.
• Map damage with customer and identify WOW opportunities.
• Prepare initial photographs, upload to CCC One with notes and arrival time.
• Notify production of arrival and verify estimate during teardown.
• Finalize estimate using Repair Planning Template.
• Collaborate with repair team to ensure windshield notations are correct.
• Set promise date using Calculator and review with customer.
• Provide regular updates to the customer per management standards.
• Participate in production meetings and follow up with technicians as needed.
• Assist insurers with damage reports and re-inspections.
