Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Consumer team to lead front-end cross-team projects across web and mobile, shaping a scalable frontend platform and delivering trusted user experiences.

You will mentor engineers, own roadmaps, ensure availability and performance, collaborate with Product, Design, Analytics, and partner teams, and drive architectural decisions in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing and growing engineering teams.
• Experience delivering consumer-facing software.
• Ability to guide architecture, quality, and reliability decisions.
• Experience leading major technical initiatives end-to-end.
• Familiar with modern full-stack: React/React Native; backend-for-frontend.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a well-balanced team of engineers.
• Own the team’s technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmap.
• Empower tech lead and engineers to uphold design and quality.
• Own availability, reliability, and performance of consumer systems.
