Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Engineering Manager for our Consumer front-end teams spanning iOS, Android, and Web to shape experiences for millions of customers.

You will lead a balanced team, own technical strategy and roadmap, and partner with Product, Design, and Analytics to deliver scalable, reliable consumer-facing software.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience including 3+ years managing and growing engineering teams.
• Experience delivering consumer-facing software and driving execution through ambiguity.
• Technical judgment to guide architecture, quality, and reliability; empower senior engineers.
• Experience leading significant technical initiatives end-to-end.
• Familiar with modern full-stack development – React/React Native and backend-for-frontend.
• Calm, decisive leadership through change and ambiguity; build alignment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a well-balanced team of engineers – setting clear expectations and providing feedback.
• Own the team’s technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmap connected to major experience initiatives.
• Empower the tech lead and engineers during design and cross-functional alignment.
• Own availability, reliability, and performance of consumer-critical systems – on-call and incident response.
• Drive alignment across organizations and influence roadmaps with partner experience and foundational teams.
• Partner with Product, Design, Analytics, and other Engineering teams to build trust and collaboration.
