Job summary

Affirm is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the front-end oriented Consumer team across mobile apps and web experiences. You will shape the technical strategy, own multi-quarter roadmaps, and empower senior engineers while ensuring reliability of consumer-critical systems.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, Analytics, and other Engineering teams to deliver complex, scalable experiences for millions of users, including large-scale redesigns and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in leadership
• Proven track record delivering consumer-facing software
• Ability to guide architecture, quality, and reliability decisions
• Experience leading significant technical initiatives end-to-end
• Familiar with modern full-stack development (React/React Native) and BFF patterns
• Calm, decisive leader capable of handling change and ambiguity
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organizational influence
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

• Lead and grow a balanced team of engineers, set expectations and provide feedback
• Own the team’s technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmap
• Empower tech leads and engineers through design and cross-functional alignment
• Own availability, reliability, and performance of consumer-critical systems
