Job summary

Lumen Technologies, Inc. is seeking an API Technology Architect on the SWAT Team to lead customer API architecture, integration patterns, and security considerations across cloud, edge, and on-prem environments.

You will partner with Technical Sellers, Product, and engineering to design scalable API-driven solutions, deliver enablement materials, and guide complex multi-product opportunities through discovery, demos, and workshops.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent education and professional experience.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in technical pre-sales, solution architecture, API/integration architecture, software or platform consulting, network automation, or telecommunications engineering.
• Experience leading technical discovery and translating business and technical requirements into clear, supportable designs.
• Knowledge of API authentication/authorization, including OAuth 2.0, tokens, credentials, scopes, and secret handling.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery with customers and account teams to understand objectives, automation goals, systems, workflows, security requirements, and success metrics.
• Architect and document integration patterns, including context, API dependencies, request/response flows, authentication, and support considerations.
• Collaborate with other architects to form a coherent API/automation strategy across multiple products.
• Lead or participate in workshops, architecture discussions, demos, troubleshooting, and onboarding calls.
