Job summary

Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre is seeking a certified Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. The role requires active certification or Act 80 grandfathering, with at least 1 year of related experience preferred.

This full-time position offers a 40-hour workweek, day shifts, and a $7500 signing bonus where eligible. You will assist surgeons, maintain aseptic techniques, prepare rooms and instruments, and collaborate with nurses and other staff to ensure patient safety and efficient

Qualifications

• Active Surgical Technologist Certification or Act 80 grandfathering.
• Minimum 1 year related work experience.
• Graduate from Specialty Training Program.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeon with procedures related to patient care during surgical intervention.
• Coordinates treatments with other disciplines.
• Provides basic patient assistance and connects patients to clinical equipment.
• Maintains aseptic technique and prepares instruments and room for procedures.
• Participates in surgical timeouts and site verification.
• Documents pertinent information and reports changes in patient condition.
