Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Surgical Technologist at GWV to assist in the operating room, maintain aseptic technique and coordinate patient care. The role involves scrubbing, gowning, gloving, draping and instrument setup under RN supervision.

Current CST certification is mandatory unless exempt under PA Act 80; graduation from a specialty program is required. Full-time, day/evening shifts with on-call responsibilities and opportunities for growth are available.

Qualifications

• Current CST certification is required unless exempt under PA Act 80.
• Graduate from Specialty Training Program is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon with procedures and coordinate treatments.
• Maintain aseptic techniques and prepare instruments.
• Scrub, gown, glove, drape and set up instrument table.
• Participate in Time Out and universal protocol briefings.
• Verify counts of sponges, needles and instruments.
• Prepare and verify specimens; assist with patient transport.
• Participate in on-call rotations and act as a preceptor for students.
