Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support operating room teams in a fast-paced clinical setting. The role involves sterile technique, patient preparation, and assisting surgeons across procedures.

The position offers a starting salary of $25.00 per hour with additional incentives including a $7,500 hiring incentive, up to $5/hr shift differential for evenings, nights and weekends, and up to $40,000 in financial support to pursue nursing education.

Qualifications

• CST certification is required unless exempt under PA Act 80.
• Graduate from Specialty Training Program is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeon with procedures across ages during surgery.
• Assists in coordination of treatments with other disciplines.
• Provides basic patient assistance.
• Maintains sterile technique and prepares operating room.
• Identifies surgical site with nurse and surgeon before incision.
• Maintains and documents supplies and instrument counts.
• Disposes of sharps and linens properly.
• Prepares and verifies specimens collected during procedures.
• Performs on-call rotations for operating room.
• Acts as a preceptor for students in the surgical unit.
