Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons in the operating room across patient ages. The role includes aseptic preparation, instrument handling, patient transport, and assisting with perioperative procedures.

Eligible candidates can receive a $7,500 hiring incentive and up to $40,000 in financial support to pursue nurse education, with up to $5/hr shift differential for certain shifts.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is required unless exempt under Pennsylvania Act 80
• Graduates from Surgical Technologist program have 6 months to become certified
• Must graduate from Specialty Training Program

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeon with procedures related to the care of patients during surgical intervention
• Maintains aseptic technique and prepares instruments and supplies
• Assists in coordinating treatments with other disciplines and patient care activities
• Participates in on-call rotations and precepts students in the unit
• Performs billing as appropriate for services rendered or equipment used
