Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is seeking a Scheduling & Registration Associate for the Ambulatory Surgery Center in Manhasset. You will schedule appointments in Hospital Information Systems, liaise with referring offices, and handle pre-registration and registration processes.

You will create the first impression of our services and ensure accurate collection of demographics, insurance information, and payments. The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of customer service experience.
• Strong oral and written communication, multitasking, detail orientation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients and calls to confirm appointments, locations, and any necessary items or instructions.
• Communicates with patients and referring physician offices in a helpful, friendly, and professional manner.
• Completes check-in and registration upon patient arrival, informing patients of required consents and financial responsibilities.
• Collects co-pays or other patient responsibilities per hospital policies and procedures.
• Verifies documentation for accuracy, including prescriptions, insurance cards, and IDs to avoid duplicate medical records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
