Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
• 3 years experience performing billing, patient registration, scheduling, medical insurance verification, insurance screening (Required).
• Broad clinic knowledge, customer service skills. Computer knowledge necessary. Microsoft Office experience preferred. Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of scheduling patients using the department's scheduling system.
• Complete online registration with parent/guardian via phone or in person in a professional, courteous manner.
• Collect accurate demographic and insurance information and update systems as needed.
• Update scheduling systems with cancellations and no-shows by COB; reschedule follow-ups as needed.
• Greet patients and parents courteously and enter patient into the appropriate system.
• Obtain required consents and ensure distribution of compliance materials; collect insurance card and photo ID for medical records.
• Collect and record co-payments, deposits, and payments; help meet the department's 85% collection target.
• Respond to patient portal work lists and verify insurance eligibility.
