Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in the United States is seeking a patient services specialist to support a single specialty ambulatory clinic. You will manage scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and billing processes while delivering courteous, accurate service to families.

The role requires strong computer skills and the ability to type at least 35 words per minute. Reporting to the Clinic Operations Manager, you will train peers, help meet department financial goals, and may rotate

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years experience in billing, registration, scheduling, insurance verification.
• Must have broad clinic knowledge and good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients and register accurately in the scheduling system.
• Collect insurance information and ensure eligibility verification.
• Assist in billing and cash handling; support department financial goals.
• Mentor and train other staff within the department and across clinics.
• May rotate to other clinics to cover staffing needs.
