Job summary

UVA Health is seeking an Access Associate to support ambulatory access operations. You will help ensure accurate scheduling, registration, and documentation while delivering compassionate, patient-centered service across in-person and phone interactions.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to scheduling standards, and contributing to a smooth patient experience in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• 2 years of relevant experience required; cross-training possible in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service in person and by phone.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments with the appropriate provider.
• Collect and verify demographic and insurance information for registration and billing.
• Perform verification functions per scheduling/registration standards.
• Complete visit documentation accurately within defined timeframes.
• Assist with cash collections and respond to patient questions with professionalism.
