Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an experienced Alternative Delivery Director for the Transportation Business Group.

You will lead pursuit and delivery of large-scale transportation projects, drive policy-aligned approvals, and collaborate with HDR’s multiple business groups to optimize contract terms and staffing. You will engage with clients, industry groups, and HDR leadership to advance AD programs, mentor teams, and ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• PE License is required.
• Minimum 15+ years of professional engineering experience on large civil infrastructure projects, including delivery.
• Experience leading diverse teams and managing client relationships.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Project Delivery Program Director for pursuit and delivery of Alternative Delivery projects.
• Drive approvals in compliance with HDR policies and risk procedures.
• Collaborate with HDR Business Group AD Directors on policy, staffing, and contracts.
• Negotiate contract terms with HDR Legal with Risk input.
• Coordinate with Transportation Leadership on client discussions for upcoming AD projects.
• Lead Transportation Leadership calls to discuss contractor relationships and HDR collaboration.
• Advise HDR leadership on commercial and technical trends in the AD industry.
• Manage AD Regional Leads and Resource Manager to support project approvals and execution.
• Negotiate teaming agreements and subcontracts with other engineering entities.
• Engage with industry organizations to raise HDR visibility in infrastructure markets.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of methods and best practices.
• Report on Transportation Business Group AD status.
• Reviewer/Approver for MOA actions; may serve as Principal-in-Charge for selected projects.
