Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an experienced Alternative Delivery Director for the Transportation Business Group to lead pursuit and delivery of high‑profile projects. The role involves directing approvals, coordinating with legal, risk, and staff resources, and fostering client relationships across HDR’s matrixed organization.

You will engage with regional leads, drive teaming agreements, and represent HDR in industry bodies, contributing to HDR’s leadership in infrastructure delivery and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field.
• Professional registration (PE/Architect) preferred for leadership roles.
• Minimum 10 years in related field with large transportation projects.
• Experience in pursuit and execution of major transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Project Delivery Program Director for pursuit and delivery of Alternative Delivery projects.
• Drive approvals per HDR policies and risk committee inputs.
• Collaborate with HDR leadership, staff resources and external contractors.
• Negotiate contract terms with HDR Legal and other entities.
• Engage with clients on upcoming projects and maintain relationships.
• Lead HDR matrix collaboration across Areas, Regions, and business classes.
• Provide strategic guidance on commercial and technical trends.
• Manage Regional Leads and Resource Manager for AD projects.
• Negotiate teaming agreements and subcontracts with engineering and construction entities.
• Represent HDR in industry groups to raise visibility.
