Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an experienced Alternative Delivery Director for the Transportation Business Group to lead pursuit and delivery of large-scale civil infrastructure projects.

You will drive approvals, negotiate terms with legal teams, and coordinate across HDR groups to maximize the matrix structure and project success. You will engage senior leadership, manage client relationships, and guide regional leads on upcoming programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of related field experience.
• Professional engineering registration (PE) preferred or required for leadership roles.
• Experience leading large transportation infrastructure projects.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Project Delivery Program Director and manage pursuit and delivery of Alternative Delivery projects.
• Drive approvals in compliance with HDR policy, matrix and risk committee.
• Collaborate with HDR groups on policy, staff resources, contracts and terms.
• Negotiate contract terms with HDR Legal in coordination with Risk Committee input.
• Coordinate with Transportation Leadership and Regional Leads on upcoming projects and relationships.
• Lead HDR Transportation leadership calls to discuss contractor relationships and HDR matrix collaboration.
• Advise HDR leadership on commercial and technical trends in the AD industry.
• Cooperate with HDR staff to maximize the strengths of the HDR matrix.
• Provide service to HDR areas for properly approved and executed AD projects.
• Engage in development of teaming agreements and design service/subcontracts.
• Foster industry relationships to elevate HDR’s visibility in AD markets.
• Engage in continual improvement of methods and best practices.
• Report on TBG Alternative Delivery status; review MOA actions for AD Projects.
• Could serve as Principal-in-Charge for selected projects or contracts.
