Job summary

Amentum is hiring an Aircraft Mechanic-Powerplant in Fallon, NV. The role performs intermediate and depot level maintenance on aircraft powerplant systems, troubleshoots, and replaces components, with emphasis on corrosion prevention and safety.

Requires three years of experience, a high school diploma, and ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Experience with F-18A‑F, EA-18G, E-2C, or F-16A/B is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three years’ experience.
• Must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment and prevention.
• Must have ability to obtain/maintain any company/government required clearance, qualification, or certifications.
• Prior Military must present Member 4 DD214 with Honorable Discharge
• Must have a valid State Driver’s License.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
• Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
• Must be able to work all assigned shifts & schedules.
• Must have Recent experience with F-18A‑F, EA-18G, E-2C, or F-16A&B aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all aircraft main, auxiliary, secondary power systems, fuel systems, engine level and bleed air components.
• Performs troubleshooting, testing, low and high power turn operational checks of power plant systems, replacing or repairing worn or damaged components, such as, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
• Removes engine from aircraft, disassembles and inspects organizational level parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairs or replaces organizational level defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, technical directives, planning documents, test specifications, technical publications and procedures, and applicable safety manuals.
• May be required to perform off-site service on assigned detachments.
