Job summary

The Aircraft Mechanic-Powerplant at Amentum performs organizational, intermediate and limited depot level maintenance on aircraft powerplant systems, including inspection, testing and repair. You will read blueprints, follow safety manuals and provide guidance to team members in a hangar or flight line setting.

Based in Fallon, NV, the role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years’ experience, and current security clearances.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three years’ aircraft maintenance experience.
• Experience with corrosion detection and prevention.
• Must hold required government clearances and certifications.
• US citizenship required for Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain main and auxiliary power systems, fuel systems, and related components.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair and replace powerplant equipment and gearboxes.
• Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble engine parts as needed.
• Read blueprints, directives, and safety manuals; follow procedures.
• May perform off-site service on detachments.
