Job summary

The Northeast Bronx YMCA in New York seeks a Program Director to lead our Afterschool initiative at the branch level, ensuring program quality and positive youth development.

Under the Youth & Family Director, you will supervise a diverse staff, design engaging programming, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with OCFS, DYCD, and partner school requirements to maximize impact in the community.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of several childcare credentials or degrees listed above.
• Minimum two years direct experience with children under 13.
• Minimum one year supervisory experience in a childcare program.
• Pediatrics CPR or First Aid certification preferred.
• General knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with diverse youth and adults.

Responsibilities

• Direct programs for designated grade bands, ensuring age-appropriate activities.
• Integrate programs into the community to meet diverse needs.
• Recruit and retain participants, aiming for high attendance.
• Use data and external evaluations to monitor program quality.
• Build partnerships with schools, funders, and evaluators to enhance services.
• Lead staff in implementing comprehensive mental wellness support.

New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential
