Job summary

The La Central YMCA in New York is seeking a Program Director to lead our Afterschool initiative under the Youth & Family Director. This role requires strategic and operational leadership to deliver holistic youth development programming.

Responsibilities include supervising a diverse staff, designing engaging programming, prioritizing mental wellness, and ensuring fiscal oversight and regulatory compliance across contracts with DYCD and partner schools.

Qualifications

• Must have one of the following: Associate’s Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field.
• New York State Children’s Program Administrator Credential.
• School-Age Child Care Credential or other Office-recognized credential for school-age development.
• Two years of college with 18 credits in related field.

Responsibilities

• Direct programs serving the designated grade level band (K-5 or 6-8) to ensure age-appropriate activities and DYCD alignment.
• Ensure programs are integrated into the community we serve and meet diverse needs.
• Develop and execute strategies for recruiting and retaining participants with strong attendance.
• Develop and utilize measures and evaluations to demonstrate program effectiveness.
• Analyze data to identify trends and implement quality improvements.
• Maintain relationships with host schools, funders, and external evaluators.
