Job summary

YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a Program Director for its Afterschool initiative at the Bronx location. You will lead a diverse staff, design engaging activities, and ensure high-quality youth development programs aligned with DYCD and OCFS standards.

The role emphasizes mental wellness integration, data-driven quality improvements, and collaboration with host schools and community partners to deliver COMPASS or SONYC-based curricula.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Child Development or related field required or equivalent credential.
• Experience with school-age children and program supervision is essential.
• Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Direct programs serving designated grade bands (K-5 or 6-8) ensuring age-appropriate activities.
• Integrate programs into the community and meet diverse needs of participants.
• Recruit, retain, and supervise staff; ensure high attendance and engagement.
• Monitor program quality using data, monitoring tools, and external evaluations.
• Develop partnerships with schools, funders, and evaluators to enhance services.
• Oversee budget, procurement, and compliance with contracts and reporting.
